Music

“When in our music God is glorified, and adoration leaves no room for pride, it is as though the whole creation cried Alleluia!” – F. Pratt Green (The Hymnal 1982, Hymn #420)

Our Music Ministry plays an extremely vital role in serving Worship. From the core singing of hymns, psalms, and spiritual songs by those assembled for worship, to the specially prepared musical offerings by choirs, instruments, and soloists, all music is offered solely to the glory of God.

We have five music ensembles, three of which meet weekly during the year (Sept thru May). For more information about any of these groups, contact our Director of Music, Larry Reynolds, at 612-824-2697, ext. 16, or email him here.

Choir

Our choir sings every Sunday at the 10 o’clock service, September through May. Rehearsals are held every Wednesday, 7:00-8:30 p.m., and at 9:15 on Sunday mornings. The choir also sings on special feast days, including Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Holy Week, and Easter. Other singing times include Festival of Lessons and Carols on Advent 4, and special concerts. The choir’s broad repertoire includes selections from classical and contemporary choral music, traditional and contemporary hymns, gospel, and jazz.

Chamber Players

Several of our church members are superb professional orchestral musicians who enjoy playing for special services and concerts throughout the year, as well as weekly Sunday worship during Advent and Lent. On Christmas Eve, we enjoy having a large orchestra of twelve or more players. However, we are always looking for more players.

Bell Choir

Our bell choir (handbells) rings in church one Sunday each month at the 10 o’clock service.
